Leaders of Assemblies Of God Nigeria has declared a state of emergency on the construction of the permanent site of the church owned University (Evangel University) with immediate effect.
The declaration of the state of emergency followed an emergency leaders’ forum meeting summoned by the executive committee of Assemblies Of God Nigeria on Thursday 7th September 2017 at Evangel House, national headquarters of Assemblies Of God Nigeria in Enugu.
The meeting, presided over by the General Superintendent, Rev Dr Chidi Okoroafor, had in attendance all elected Officers, members of the executive committee, district superintendents and directors of the general council Assemblies Of God Nigeria.
Briefing the leaders on the state of affairs of Evangel University, Rev Dr Chidi Okoroafor said time has come for the church leaders to stand by the executive committee in ensuring that Evangel University is moved to its permanent site located in Akaeze, Ivo Local Government Area of Ebonyi State.
The Evangel University Permanent site has more than 3000 plots of land, if developed, the University will move to Akaeze, thereby solving accommodation problems which has recently been a challenge at the Evangel Cam Okpoto.
