Bishop Odedeji Reminds Christians Of Easter’s Truth
The Bishop, Diocese of Lagos West, Anglican Communion, The Rt. Rev. Dr. James Odedeji has reminded Christians of the truth of Easter while also pointing out its importance for the Christian.
While speaking at this year’s Easter service at the Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral (AVMCC), Ikeja, Lagos, the Bishop stated that the Christian faith has its foundation on this historic event.
Drawing his text from John 20, Odedeji said, “Take the resurrection of Christ from the Christian faith and you have nothing. In as much as we celebrate christmas and other liturgical days, this is the cornerstone.”
He further pointed out its relevance saying, THe resurrection is a reminder that death is not the end of our lives, for those who have fallen asleep in Christ are not lost.
“It affirms the truthfulness of the life and words of Jesus. It is an affirmation of God’s words and promises. He is a trustworthy God.”
According to Bishop Odedeji, Christians have a living Saviour and it is a news worth sharing with the world.
