NAN Chapel Holds Maiden Christmas Carol

The News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) Chapel on Wednesday organised its maiden Christmas Carol, preparatory to the December 25 celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ.

Carols have been used over the decades as songs that herald Christians’ joy and mood for Christmas that characterizes benevolence.

The Assistant Chaplain NAN Chapel, Pastor David Onilede, urged the audience to spend their lives in obedience to God’s words and instructions, saying that Christ’s second coming was at hand.

Onilede said, “This celebration is to alert us towards second coming of Jesus Christ. We must be aware and be fully prepared for it.

“We are soldiers of Christ and we should be ready for His second coming. The Bible has made us to understand that His first coming was not appreciated, so we must learn from the past and shape our ways to receive Him by being born again.”

Denis Pollyn, the Carols’ Conductor, urged the audience to be content with life, adding that they should approach life with thanksgiving.

“We must always be ready to give thanks to God, irrespective of the prevailing conditions,” Pollyn said.

The audience gave sweet rendition of Silent Night, The Herald Angels Sing, Angels from the Realms of Glory, Joy to the World and We wish You A Merry Christmas among others.
