YOWICAN Accuse Service Chiefs of Executing Islamist Agenda

The Youth Wing of Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN) on Tuesday accused the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris and the service chiefs of executing an Islamist mission in the country.

The national president, David Kadzai, in a communiqué issued at the end of a two-day meeting of its North East officials in Yola, Adamawa State, said the “selective operations of the IGP and the Chief of Army Staff, Lt. Gen. Tukur Yusuf Buratai, call for concerns, considering the religious dimensions their activities are taking.

He said, “When the kinsmen (Fulani herdsmen) of the IGP killed over 200 people in Agatu local council of Benue State, he did not visit or deploy policemen. When over 100 people were killed in Wukari, Taraba State by herdsmen, Idris did not visit.

“Even when over 90 people were killed at Kodomun in Demsa local area of Adamawa State, Idris did not visit. But when 18 Fulani were killed in a communal clash with farmers in Sarduana local council of Taraba State, the IGP visited and deployed 2000 police officers to the area. When farmers clashed with herdsmen in Numan council area and about 30 people were killed, Idris visited and deployed 800 policemen.”

Kadzai flayed the National Assembly for not curtailing the alleged unhealthy practices under the President Muhammadu Buhari government, warning that the country was sitting on a time bomb.

He further alleged, ” It is now clear to Nigerians why Buhari appointed his Muslim brothers to occupy all the sensitive security agencies. The recent killing of over 88 people and burning of churches at Dong town in Demsa local council by Air Force Alfa jet which is meant for war is a confirmation of Buhari’s agenda.”

Kadzai recalled that on September 13, 2016, the Sultan of Sokoto, Alhaji Saad Abubakar III, told the world that the marauding herdsmen were foreigners, querying: ” If it is true they are foreigners, what is the Comptroller General of Immigration doing to arrest and deport them?

He questioned the rationale behind the deployment of soldiers in the South East to fight the Independent People of Biafra (IPOB), whom he claimed was a non-violent organisation agitating for a just cause devoid of religious prejudices.
