An American missionary from the state of Indiana, has been killed in Cameroon after being caught in the crossfire of bullets not intended for him, CBN reports.
The director of Bamenda regional hospital in northwestern Cameroon, Kingue Thomson Njie, said Charles Trumann Wesco was shot in the head when he was in his car early Tuesday.
He says the missionary died after all attempts were made to save his life.
According to him, Wesco’s wife, Stephanie, and children were still in Bamenda. It was unclear if any of them were harmed.
The family had been in Cameroon for just 12 days before the shooting.
