General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has warned against division among Nigerians, but rather to come together in building an indivisible nation.
Adeboye advised Christians not to stop praying for the country to avert war and emphasized that only those who have never experienced the pains of war would fold their hands or talk about war.
He said these at a special prayer service held last Sunday at the church’s national headquarters in Ebute Metta, Lagos, themed Freedom For The Nation And Family.
The cleric said, “You must not stop praying for Nigeria. Keep praying that there will be no war. Only the few people who keep talking about war is somebody who has never seen war.”
Adeboye’s Assistant on Admin/Personnel, Pastor Funsho Odeshola, corroborating Adeboye, called for roundtable deliberations in resolving the recent agitations.
“Sit down at a round table, we have come a long way, we have had agitations but now we have to sit at the round table and table our needs and see how we can settle amicably without taking up arms.
“We have more than enough in this nation to take care of everyone. I believe God that if the leadership of this nation will listen so that we hear people out .The message of love let us work together in unity and harmony , because we have enough resources let us build a united and indivisible Nigeria that can stand in any clime,” Odeshola told INDEPENDENT Believing.
In his sermon, Adeboye also warned against borrowing, living beyond one’s means, foolishness, hatred, querying God, unholy living and cutting.
He said, “A borrower is a servant to the lender. ‘Oh! I borrowed this money from the bank to do my business. ’The bank is your master. That is what the word of God says. That is why you must never again allow yourself to be deceived into borrowing anybody. When someone has you to come and borrow money to buy clothes because Christmas is coming, come and borrow this one so you can pay me in six months, you say no.
“The bible says, he that winneth souls is wise. What’s the opposite of that? He that does not win souls is foolish. If you are not a soul winner, you are a fool and the fool will be a servant to the wise and the fool is not free.
“There are other teachings of Jesus Christ, give and it shall be given, love your neighbor as yourself etc. If you are not doing the will of God and you claim to be a Christian, then you are a foolish Christian and the fool is not free.”
