Egypt: Persecuted Christians Cry Out For Help
Egyptian Christians are crying out for help as they continue to deal with terrible persecution as a result of their faith in Jesus. Authorities continue to close down Churches across the country, and Coptic believers are struggling to see a way forward.
Worshippers were harassed at two churches and pelted with rocks at one of them, as both were closed down by authorities, Hello Christian reports.
“We have kept quiet for two weeks after the closure of one of the churches, but due to our silence the situation has worsened … it is as if prayer is a crime the Copts must be punished for,” Copts said in a statement released last Saturday.
Coptic Christians make up 10 percent of Egypt’s population, which numbers almost 100 million.
