Prepare for Christ’s Return – Cleric at Advent Service
The Bishop, Diocese of Lagos West, Anglican Communion, The Rt. Rev. Dr. James Odedeji has called on Christians to prepare for Christ’s return by denouncing wicked and ungodly ways, but rather walking in the light of God.
The Bishop said this during his advent service sermon at the Archbishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral (AVMCC), Ikeja, Lagos.
Odedeji also warned against believing false prophesies dating Christ’s second coming, as it was clear from Scripture that no one except God knows that.
He therefore urged Christians to live and walk properly in consciousness of eternity.
According to him, “Christ is coming to deliver the Church from opposition, persecution, within and without the congregation,
“He is coming to receive His saints unto Himself. To take vengeance on those who hate and disobey God and to gather the nets for the final harvest.”
He also stated that it would be a time when Christ rewards those who have diligently and faithfully served Him.
The service also doubled as the Church’s general thanksgiving.
