RCCG Donates Borehole to Abuja Community
In a bid to alleviate the suffering of the people, The Redeemed Christian Church of God, RCCG, The Throne Room, has donated a borehole to a village in Katampe 2, Abuja, Leadership Nigeria reports.
The donation, which is in collaboration with the Fountain of Grace, Boston, USA, was done last Saturday when the church went on an outreach to the community in Abuja.
Speaking on why the Community was chosen as beneficiary, the senior pastor of the parish, Pastor Tunde Benjamin said the church takes it upon itself to always identify communities, with basic social amenities needed and assist them in whichever way it can.
He further explained that his parish had continually dedicated itself to this kind of project and only last year, it donated three boreholes to three communities around Abuja.
While explaining that majority of the funds come from its members, the Pastor also noted that this Katampe 2 project was in collaboration with its partner in USA, the Fountain of Grace.
Appreciating the gesture, the leader of the Community, Sarkin Zaka Baba, said the village will forever be grateful to God and the church for this donation.
He also stated that no body, church or organisation has ever donated such gift to the community and in order to safeguard the project, the community security will always look after the borehole.
As part of the outreach, the church also donated clothes, foodstuff and organised free medical treatment and medicine to the village men, women, and children.
