The spokesman of the Nigerian President, Femi Adesina, has stated that only God can determine when Leah Sharibu will return home.
Adesina stated this on Tuesday morning during an interview with Channel TV’s Sunrise Daily.
He was reacting to a recent audio made available by TheCable in which Leah, the kidnapped Dapchi School girl, was heard appealing to President Muhammadu Buhari to ensure her release.
When asked by the journalist for how long she would remain in the captivity of Boko Haram, Adesina said:
“For how much longer? I think that question can only be answered by God. But I believe that God is interested in that young girl and will ensure that she is preserved.”
He went on to say that when the clip is verified, the government would be able to confirm that she is alive.
“Government is working on her return,” he said.
