Unknown gunmen suspected to be bandits attacked St. Vincent Ferrer Catholic Church located in Malumfashi Local Government Area of Katsina State, killing a Reverend father Alphonsus Bello.
This terrible incident was reported to have on Thursday. Another priest, Reverend Father, Joe Keke was said to have been abducted.
According to an eyewitness, the gunmen attacked the church compound at about 11: 00 pm and moved straight to the residences of the two priests situated inside the church compound. The deceased was said to have resisted attempts made by the gunmen to abduct him but they were able to overpower him and took him away.
His remains were eventually discovered inside farmland behind the Catechetical Training School Malumfashi in the early hours of Friday.
