God is Always Faithful – Jeremy Lin

Jeremy Lin is trusting God with his future after a devastating knee injury prematurely ended his NBA season.

Jeremy Lin, who last week was diagnosed with a ruptured patella tendon of the right knee, requiring surgery, took to social media to voice his optimism.

“Gods ALWAYS faithful and in control,” he tweeted.

In a later Instagram post, he thanked those who have supported him throughout his injury.

“THANKS for all the love!! For real I’ve been blown away with the support,” Lin wrote. “The road to recovery starts now…”

Lin ended the post with the hashtag, “#doasyoumayLord.”

Lin entered opening night as the Nets starting point guard and was expected to play a big part in Brooklyn’s season, CBS Sports reported. However, his knee injury ended his 2017-18 campaign before it had a chance to begin

In a statement he Nets announced Lin would be out for the season.

“Brooklyn Nets guard Jeremy Lin has been diagnosed with a ruptured patella tendon of the right knee. The injury occurred during the fourth quarter of last night’s game at Indiana. Lin is expected to miss the entire 2017-18 season. Further updates will be made available at a later time.”

Nets General Manager Sean Marks said: “Jeremy worked tremendously hard during the offseason and in training camp and was excited for the prospects of the team this season. We feel awful that the injury will cost him the season, however our entire organization will be there to support Jeremy in every way possible throughout his recovery. Jeremy remains an important part of this team and will continue to contribute in a leadership role.”

As earlier reported, the Christian athlete was sidelined for much of last season due to multiple hamstring injuries. At the time, the athlete shared how he leaned on God while sidelined due to his injuries. According to Lin, God’s taught him a great deal about gratitude and humility through his physical trials.

“Thank you for everyone’s support and prayers! Not gonna lie, this season’s been very painful physically, mentally and emotionally, not being able to battle with my crew night in night out,” Lin wrote on Instagram. “But God’s been teaching me a lot about gratitude for the little things, full surrender of my greatest dreams, humility in service to my teammates and trust in His perfect timing. I’m working extremely hard to get right again … thanks again for the love!”

He later told NBA.com that while sitting on the sidelines has been difficult, he’s found other ways to work on his basketball skills.

“That’s life and I think it’s more how you respond from it,” he said. “I’m given this, so how I can still pour into my teammates and study the game or different things. I know in a lot of ways, a lot of setbacks or things I’ve really not enjoyed have been the most valuable for me in terms of being a learning experience.”
