The Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) has called on political parties to avoid all forms of electoral violence as the 2019 general elections draw closer.
CAN President, Rev. (Dr.) Samson Ayokunle, called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) and all the security agencies to be neutral and apolitical in their conduct to have free, fair and credible polls in 2019.
He called on the parties to avoid hate-speeches, violence, vote-buying and other electoral frauds.
He also urged Nigerians, irrespective of their ethnic, political and religious persuasions, not to sell their votes or be used to perpetrate violence before, during and after the elections.
